Just a short post today as I'm in the middle of planning a Golden Wedding party for a couple in August. A bit different to be working on an event celebrating 50 years of marriage rather than the beginning of it!
Anyway, the venue search has reminded me to say that if you've just gotten engaged over Christmas, don't think you can't get married this summer. Whilst lots of couples have very specific wants on venue, date, suppliers etc which can take 18 months of planning, if you're willing to be flexible on those things there are definitely some good bargains to be had!
Lots of venues that aren't booked by now for this summer are likely to offer a good discount of their hire fees and packages so it's always worth checking their website or asking what's available. If you're flexible on dates then it's definitely worth trying that venue you thought you couldn't afford for last minute availability! It's also worth popping along to local wedding fairs of which there are a lot this time of year. Many suppliers offer discounts to couples that book on the day, so if you're in a position to confirm then it's worth having a look. They're mostly free for bride and grooms to go to and you can also pick up some great inspiration while you're there.
It's also never too late to hire a planner either! Whilst full planning is my speciality, I also offer wedding day management. So if you're getting married this year and feeling a little overwhelmed by it all or would just like a safe pair of hands to run the day for you, then please do get in touch for a free consultation.
